Internationally seasoned, award-winning, multi-cultural marketing leader with over two decades of experience in telecommunications covering real time communications (IMS, Packet Core, VoIP), mobile messaging (SMS, RCS Business Messaging), mobile and fixed-line Unified Communication (UC) solutions and services (UCaaS), Contact Center as a Service (CCaaS), and WebRTC, as well as in-depth knowledge of related user experience fields such as video production and animation, and customer experience (CX) design.
Carlos started his career in a technical support engineering role for Ericsson; but quickly discovered his natural talent for product marketing after joining Nortel. He quickly moved to global product marketing responsibilities for Wireless Packet Core, IMS and Multimedia Applications, and was selected to participate in Nortel's Leadership Edge Developer Program (LEDP) where he learnt key business management skills around finance, marketing, leadership, management and team building.
After Nortel, he held Product Marketing leadership positions at:
GENBAND (which became Ribbon Communications after their merger with Sonus Networks) — heading the marketing of Cloud and Platform-as-a-Service offers, including the Kandy.io Communications Platform as a Service (CPaaS).
Mavenir — helping mobile network operators bring innovative solutions for the enterprise of the future, including UCaaS, CCaaS, MaaP and CPaaS (with the acquisition of Telestax) and in 2022 he was promoted to the position of AVP of Product and Partner Marketing overseeing the entire portfolio of solutions and coordinating joint marketing activities with key cloud hyperscalers and hardware partners.
An outspoken and prolific communicator, Carlos has developed, lead and participated in webinars, panels, fireside chats and keynotes with his employers and prestigious industry organizations such as GSMA and Mobile Ecosystem Forum.
